I know I’ve mainly only posted on FB (I know, I feel so dirty) but I thought i’d make an official posting here on my blog as well.

Born on the 13th of February, at 2 am. I am a bad bad person, don’t know the weight and whatnot. He’s doing fine. Day two and he’s discovered crying. I feel bad for Grace. Hah.

Thank you everyone on the various social medias for the well wishes. I of course will keep you updated with pics and videos when I have some cool stuff.

Camping at the rest stop

August 8th, 2013 No comments

This is half way between my home and my home town. We’re talking a three hour drive, here. Nothing over the top.

Whenever I stop here for a break, there’s always caravans here camping for the night. I don’t get it. Maybe it’s easier, but I’d rather go off the beaten track a little, make it a proper adventure. Not somewhere where you can hear traffic all night on a major highway. There’s so much beautiful country out this way, make it a proper adventure!!

A night out at The Palace! The Broken Hill variety..

December 2nd, 2012 No comments

Well that was a fun weekend.

While I missed a few people, I managed to bump into people I haven’t seen in years, and also someone I lost contact with (stupid phone). So next time I come back (due to work, will be often) Weekends in the home town should be more fun! Well, after the silly season, that is. Now is the time of gifts and saving and (eventually) holidays! Looking forward to it.

We managed to see Zach Watt (I believe that is how you spell it) – some years ago back in the dim dark days of the mid ninties he won an unearthed competition in Broken Hill and as far as I was told, only recently moved back to town? Anyways, it was fun and interesting – he started just with him and his acoustic guitar and playing the strangest yet interesting of covers – from Jeff Buckley, Beyonce!, Johnny Cash, Kate Bush and all sorts. After a meal break he returned with backing music on his laptop and sung a whole batch of Frank Sinatra standards. By the end of that the crowd were getting drunker and rowdy (it was sit down dinner arrangement and people just got more pissy as the night progressed) he ended it getting the crowd up dancing in tiniest of dancefloors by firing up the kareoke section of the computer and doing the stuff the crowd loves come late – you know, ABBA, etc. He’s got an amazing voice and there’s not much he was stuck on that he couldn’t pull off flawlessly. It’s a shame he doesn’t perform any of his own music but sadly Broken Hill isn’t the type of town for that. If I can find any of his own stuff online later, I’ll upload it to another post. He’s got quite the talent, the lucky bugger. I’m glad I went. It’s great to be sitting in the living artwork that is the Palace (seriously, go rent Priscilla. That pub when they’re in Broken Hill? That’s it. Artwork all over the walls, I love that place.) and something which just isnt the standard typical DJ or pub band is a welcome refreshing change.

Life update volume whatever

August 22nd, 2012 No comments

I really need to update this more. I know I know.

Te last few weeks have been insanity. Funerals, work, and then a sneaky trip to Adelaide all in the last week and a bit. I’m really happy the iPad apps work so well now cause 99% of the time I can do everything on this bloody thing. Work emails, blogs etc etc.

Racked myself up with a little more debt with a proper canon 600d camera. The things a beauty and the lenses aren’t too bad, looking at proper lenses ones that aren’t scoffed at though – some are dearer than the fucking main camera were! I really need to get hold of a friend and have a good chat about it with her, get her to help me with what I actually need..

Weights still going well. Down to around 67 kilos – there was a time I was hovering around the 80 kilo mark. I still have the annoying belly but, baby steps… Maybe if I didn’t have to look at my ugly mug every day I’d notice the changes more. Ehh.. No biggie. πŸ™‚ I’ll get there πŸ™‚

Watching the terribleness which is eurovision. The terribleness of Europa on our televisions. A big eared Swiss version of Charlie pace is on the television now singing about gold (i think).

@Chleee is right, though. I love Zamiro but the humor isn’t there without Wogan. Even Norton would be much better. Can’t you switch to the UK stream again please???

Airports, more airports

May 19th, 2010 No comments

I think it’s frightening when you start to get used to these domestic airports – both Sydney and Melbourne are not 100% but I’m fully comfortable knowing which way to turn when I get off the plane and not looking confused anymore. I hate to see those poor people who are here once a week, or daily!

It’s funny, after flying on one of the larger air carriers, I feel more comfortable flying with the rex people. There’s something more personal? And a small complimentary drink/nibbles is just nice. Spose you get what you pay for.

I love this mophie juice pack. Slowly starting to run out now and I’m still sitting on 100% internal. Love it.

Chillin in Sydney

May 15th, 2010 No comments

How is everyone? Just spending a lazy day at my friends house in Sydney. Looking at the television and watching that Jessica prance herself (good on her, even if she didn’t break the record) on tv I think I did the right thing NOT going into the city today πŸ™‚

My ipad would have done nice right about now. Apple says still 28th may, do no more delays hopefully.. It’s funny though with voda 3g and shitloads of apps, I’m finding I’m not missing out on a lot than I would if I brought my shitty and slow eeepc. Probably going to visit the apple store on Monday, see if I can find one of those battery cases for my 3gs.

Anyways must dash. Nice dinner out tonight for my friends birthday… Hope all is good with all of you.

So Hot

February 15th, 2010 No comments

This is how I’m feeling 90% of the time. It’s kind of odd. I usually enjoy summer. Well, more than winter, that’s for sure. This year though it just feels like it’s drailing the life out of me. Also, while the rest of the country is either getting some decent storms, ortoo much rain, Mildura is being passed by. The last time it rained was about 3 days ago or so. And it was in the middle of the night and lasted minutes. Literally minutes. So perhaps its envy? I don’t know. Either way, I’m not trusting the weather man and keeping the watering out the front up.

Had the family here most of the the weekends lately. Had Auntie here, weekend before, Mum and Dad, weekend before that, other auntie. It’s like this is becoming the new Broken Hill (my home town) or something. Also, remind me not to drink Carlton Draught again. Woke up in the middle of the night with a serious headache, I’m talking migraine almost. Something obviously didn’t agree with me with that beer. It’s kind of odd, I used to drink that all of the time when I lived in Wagga Wagga, with no ill effects. (this is before Pure Blonde). Maybe drinking all this Low Carb, low preservatives Beer has agreed with my body. Who knows. Went to my fathers friends house after heading out to the drags where I fall asleep and start snoring in front of them all. Classy. I think i’ll give the Carlton a miss next time. And the bad thing is, I MAYBE had 4?? God I’m useless πŸ™‚

well, that’s a surprise

January 20th, 2010 No comments

Last week I dropped my iphone and cracked the front of the screen. What annoys me the most is, that it happened at home, while sitting on my lounge where it fell out of my hand onto one of the plates I was previously using for Pizza. I think that’s the most annoying bit out of it all. If it were out on the street, or rushing somewhere, I’d totally understand. If the plate wasn’t there, it would of just bounced and been fine. I’m sure the Apple guy was smirking today when I told him.

That’s the big surprise, I can’t believe how easy and simple it was to call them, them to get my details and sort everything. Within ten minutes he had given me a number, a sheet to print out and BOOM! Off to the Post Office, where THEY get one of their own packing boxes and sort it out for you. God knows how much that must cost Apple altogether each year. Sure, I have to pay to get the screen replaced, but it was my own fault…. Probably Internode and Apple areΒ  the only tech support numbers I’ve ever called and not come away with a migraine afterwards.

Being sucked into Dragon Age : Origins at the moment. If you like single player RPGs, this is probably THE best game I have ever played. So much gameplay, such clever and well thought out character design where influences and disapprovals by your companions completely changes the storyline. And its got many difficulty settings so a uber-noob like me can actually play and not get frustrated and stuck somewhere. I’ve only done two areas and I have so so much still to go on. Haven’t even started the Downloadable Content yet….
