Every Anime Opening Ever Made

November 30th, 2010 No comments

This video is doing the round at the moment. It’s not “every opening”, of course :), but a funny “how to” if your new show is missing that certain something 😉

Primal Scream Release Mammoth ‘Screamadelica’ Reissue

Primal Scream Release Mammoth ‘Screamadelica’ Reissue
“Primal Scream have planned a massive four disc reissue of their 1991 acid house classic ‘Screamadelica’ to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its release.”

This is great news. Considering they’re doing their big tour in February i don’t know why they aren’t releasing it then. Cant wait to see this album live at the big day out.

Oh yeah, saw the new lineup this morning. Wasn’t too impressed, but I may have to do some downloading to find out what the unknown bands are like. Very annoyed that the hummingbirds are getting back together for Sydney big day out shows. Yes, I know they’re probably all got families and settled down by now but I’d still love to go see them. Grump grump.

New music for November

November 22nd, 2010 No comments

Excuse the overly apple pic, but I think it sums up how most of listen to music anyways and I’m writing this on my iPad, so it’s kind of apt. Thought I’d post a few YouTube links of some of my face music I’ve been listening to at the moment thanks to the wonderful rhapsody app. I swear that thing is the best app in the entire iTunes store.

Grouplove – Colours – only heard this today. Richard Kingsmill was interviewing them about how they all randomly met and regardless if the band makes it big their story could make a decent movie either ways. 🙂 They all seem so nice and fun. I hope their debut album does well once it comes out.

Twin Shadow – I can’t wait – You know how a lot of bands who try to go retro sound over the top pr deliberate by the time the song is heard it just doesn’t work? This band isn’t one of them. It’s not over the top. In fact, if I didn’t know it was a new album I would swear it was something straight from the 80s vault. It’s got a great sound to it. I like it a lot.

Matthew Dear – You put a smell on me – From what I’ve read, this guy is a somewhat famous DJ who occasionally gets into solo music. It’s a great electro feel, I was almost turned off by the slow boring opening track but it picks up a lot though out the album. Great background music when you’re in the car, or working.

Best Coast – Boyfriend – The girl needs a decent producer. It gets a little muddy in parts, but the pop shines through and I would just love to see her live. Reminds me of something that the hummingbirds might have written if they were still around in some fashion today. My favorite song from the album is Bratty B I couldn’t find a decent YouTube clip. Have a listen to that one as well and tell me what you think. 🙂

With rhapsody I think i could very much so make this a regular thing. Why more people haven’t embraced this app is beyond me 🙂

Mammoths in Ironforge

November 17th, 2010 4 comments
Waiting tonight in WoW for the new world event came through. At the moment they have this hourly invasion of elementals that run through Ironforge and Stormwind. If you get both cities saved from these baddies, 4 portals open up which take you to 4 old monsters in old instances but for the level 80s to fight. Some dope told us it was half an hour early and so we were all sitting around Ironforge waiting, waiting, when a group of people thought it would be cool to run around on their Mammoth Mounts. You can probably guess where this is going…

This may not seem like a lot, but for our little Oceanic server (Nagrand), especially one hours just before the weekly server downtime, this is huge. And I’ve never in my life seen that many people in the old world. I was a late WoW player, I joined up at the 3/4 stage of The Burning Crusade, so “the good ol’ days” means nothing but Neverwinter Nights for me.

I think that Blizzard have got the right idea by remaking the old world. For too long it’s been ignored or quickly run through so they can get to higher levels and better content. With the knowledge they’ve learnt in the last few years, I can see a lot more alts and people going back JUST to enjoy the story line.
